Acht is het atoomnummer van zuurstof.
Het getal 8 is ook een Fibonacci-getal, zijnde 3 plus 5. Een byte bestaat uit 8 bits.
Super Mario Bros. had 8 werelden om doorheen te spelen. Een octopus heeft 8 tentakels.
Acht is ook het kleinste getal dat op meer dan 1 manier partitioneerbaar is in drie verschillende positieve gehele getallen: 8 = 1 + 2 + 5 én 8 = 1 + 3 + 4.
En toen ik 8 minuten geleden een plaatje bij dit postje zocht kwam ik bij een flickr group die zich richt op het getal acht.
De chinezen vinden 8 een geluksgetal, ze spreken het uit als 'fa' wat zoiets als rijkdom, veel geld verdienen betekent.
Moge al deze 8-en ons allen veel geluk brengen..~
Kreeg gisteravond (laat) een mailtje met de volgende tekst:
Hallo Kat, Ik ben [Dinges], freelance medewerker van het het populair-wetenschappelijke maandblad Triv. Daarin staat een weblogrubriek, waarin telkens een aantal blogs worden besproken aan de hand van een bepaald onderwerp. De beste wint een prijs: een K800i Cybershot van Sony Ericsson.
In het augustusnummer was het onderwerp Kunst, en ik kan je zeggen dat jij met Goddelijke Gladiolen de prijs hebt gewonnen.
Jeminee ... iiiiit's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, want ik wist niet eens dat ik ergens aan meedeed!
